This museum is named after Raja Bhuri Singh, the then ruler of erstwhile Chamba state (now in Himachal Pradesh), and was founded to preserve the cultural heritage of Chamba State. He had gifted his inherited art collection to the museum. The collection represents the art and cultural past of this region. It has more than 8500 antiquities and art objects related to Art, Paintings, Archaeology, Craft and Cultural Anthropology. Museum has 7 galleries each dedicated to Archeology, Pahari paintings, Chamba history, Chamba art, Old photographs, numismatics and anthropology.
