Museum of Fine Arts is an integral part of the Department of Art History and Visual Arts at Panjab University. This museum is a premiere museum of North India. It has an art gallery with different sections allotted for diverse artworks such as paintings, sculptures, and architecture. Indian miniature paintings, contemporary art, portraits, are considered as the best sections. The paintings of well known artists such as Nandalal Bose, Rabindranath Tagore, Raja Ravi Varma, Amrita Sher-Gil, Jamini Roy among others are housed here. Some attractions for visitors include the ancient Gandharan Sculptures, Pahari and Rajasthani Miniature paintings, Ancient Rock Idols, Coins, Metal idols and Child Art Gallery.
