This museum was established by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) and administered by Department of Culture, Government of Uttarakhand. It exhibits various aspects of the natural calamity in Kedarnath which happened in 2013 and the folk culture of Uttarakhand through paintings, sculptures, and other artworks by artist Surendra Pal Joshi. He was known for his use of experimental techniques in paintings, sculptures and murals.
