This museum is one of the largest and oldest museums in India and has rare collections of antiques, armor and ornaments, and Mughal paintings. It is said to be the first of its kind as the pride of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Miniature paintings in the collection are classified into 5 types or schools, based on their distinct painting style in the Rajasthani painting tradition. Bridal costumes in the collection are classified into 5 distinct styles. Similarly, the collection has paintings depicting various fairs and festivals in the region as well as traditional gems and folk jewellery.
