KYNKYNY Art Gallery Presents Retrospective Exhibition of Artist JMS Mani

June 8, 2023- KYNKYNY Art Gallery in Bangalore is proud to present a retrospective exhibition of the artist JMS Mani, showcasing the diverse and profound artistic journey of Bangalore-based maestro. Titled “Badami and Beyond,” the exhibition invites art enthusiasts to explore the captivating world of JMS Mani, who experimented with various mediums and styles throughout his extensive career.

From his early years of sketching to his forays into landscapes, impressionistic and surreal artworks, JMS Mani’s repertoire encompasses a wide range of creative expressions. The artist’s exploration includes mediums such as watercolour, etching, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, as well as his renowned acrylic and oil paintings.

Undoubtedly Mani’s celebrated “Badami Series” has garnered significant acclaim. This series vividly depicts everyday life in the historical location of Badami in Karnataka, featuring a diverse cast of characters, including flower sellers, fruit vendors, girls with braids, and street hawkers. Through the synthesis of contemporary aesthetics, Western formalism, and an Indian sensibility, Mani brings to life the vibrant colors and textures of rural South India in his Badami Series.

The retrospective exhibition of JMS Mani’s work at KYNKYNY Art Gallery provides a unique opportunity to witness the evolution and brilliance of this master artist.
