‘Gunijan Art Award 2023’ announced by Ravi Paranjape Foundation
Pune (18th Sept) Ravi Paranjape Foundation, Pune has announced the names of Painter Charuhas Pandit and Painter Chintamani Hasbanis as awardees for the ‘Gunijan Art Award 2023’.
The Ravi Paranjpe Foundation’s annual ‘Gunijan Kala Award’ is honors an artist who has had significant achievements in the field of art and has also contributed to social upliftment. This year the award honors the works of two artists, Charuhas Pandit and painter Chintamani Hasbanis.
Charuhas Pandit is an excellent portrait painter who has been working for more than thirty years. His name became a household name with his cartoon series ‘Chintu’ in Marathi. Also, his specialty is ‘Kashtha Chitra’ (Wood based art), which keeps the natural colors of the pieces of wood intact.
Chintamani Hasbanis is famous as an excellent painter and colourist. His contribution to the field of art is unique and invaluable due to the ‘Sight and taste of art’ which he has given to the blind. By adding braille to visual images and speech, he is doing the seemingly impossible task of bringing the joy of viewing paintings to the blind or visually impaired.
The award distribution ceremony will be held on 8th October 2023 at 10 AM in the hall of ‘Vidyarthi Sahayyak Samiti’ at Fergusson College Road, Pune.
Thereafter, the exhibition of paintings by both the artists will be open to the public from 8th to 15th October 2023 at ‘The Ravi Paranjape Studio’, Model Colony, Pune.
