‘Gandhi – An Artist Interpretation’ Unveiled!

Mumbai – 6th October

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Gandhi Film Foundation in collaboration with Photography Promotion Trust have organized an art exhibition titled ‘Gandhi – An Artist Impression’, curated by Shri Sanjay Nikam. It was inaugurated by Indian Scholar and Critic Shri Amrit Gangar and Indian politician and columnist Shri Sudheendra Kulkarni.

The show consists of diverse artworks by various artists who have attempted to interpret what Mahatma Gandhi means to them. Gandhi’s legacy in present times has not Just blossomed, but tarnished too.  It is a simple act caused due to understanding and misunderstanding the Gandhain philosophy. Curator Shri Sanjay Nikam expressed that “As a Curator, this visual art show will address the precise ambience of Gandhiji’s Influence on me and other participating artists. Retrospection of India’s freedom struggle and giving a visual language through introspection, is an effort which may be a high key of this show.”

This group show not only reveals artworks by artist from the main stream, but also individual from various other professions who have a niche to express themselves through art.  The event also showcases artist from other states such as Gujarat, Telangana etc. Moreover, the works displayed are such that, they can be appreciated by any class of the society.
