‘No whispers, please!’

Mumbai, 5th July 2023 – In a significant development, Sir J J School of Art, Sir J J College of Architecture, and Sir J J Institute of Applied Art held a joint meeting on 5th July 2023 to address the concerns and queries surrounding the recent declaration of these three institutions being granted a “de-novo” status. The announcement sparked chaos leading to misunderstanding among parents, students, and the art community. To provide clarity and answer questions, this dedicated meeting was organized. 

 A significant meeting was held at  JJ School of Art, JJ College of Architecture, and JJ Institute of Applied Art to address the concerns and queries arising from the recent declaration of these institutions being granted a “de-novo” status. The meeting was conducted in the presence of the esteemed Deans of all three institutions. Their valuable insights and guidance played a pivotal role in providing clarity and reassurance to the attendees. Following the meeting, students expressed a positive outlook towards the de-novo process, inspired by the leadership and support demonstrated by the Deans. The collective efforts of these academic leaders are instrumental in navigating this transformative phase and ensuring a bright future for the prestigious JJ institutions.

As part of the process, all three institutions at the JJ campus created a Google form accompanied by a poster featuring a QR code. This allowed individuals associated with JJ to submit their queries, specifying their relationship with the institution. In the provided Google form, the respondents are required to provide their basic information along with their specific questions. The institute has assured to make every effort to address all questions related to the de-novo process. In cases where a question does not have a definite answer, the individual shall be candidly informed that the answer is currently unavailable. The heads of the institutes expressed that the J J Institutes are committed to transparency and willing to provide as much information as possible to ensure clarity and understanding regarding the de-novo process.

With the de-novo process nearing completion, this joint meeting served as an important step in alleviating concerns and fostering understanding amongst various stakeholders. The JJ  Institutes remains committed to transparency and open to communication as they navigate this significant transformative phase.

In another exciting development, JJ School of Art, JJ College of Architecture, and JJ Institute of Applied Art have joined hands to organize a marathon event called ‘Run JJ Run’. Dates are not declared yet for this event. This unique initiative aims to foster synergy and collaboration between JJ alumni and current students. The marathon will serve as a platform for individuals associated with the institutions to come together, promote a healthy lifestyle, and celebrate their shared connection to the JJ legacy.

The event promises to be a celebration of the artistic spirit and the rich heritage of the JJ institutions. As participants participate in the marathon, they will carry the torch of creativity, unity, and excellence that JJ alumni and students embody.
