This week’s art exhibition plan at the Jehangir Art Gallery opened with Six new exhibitions, spanning two group shows and four solo shows, amidst cheerful hustle and bustle of artists, art lovers and enthusiasts.

“Quad” – A group show of Paintings by Ajay T Meshram, Ajit D Choudhary, Anand C Shende, and Sculptures by Dinesh Singh
Mumbai artist Ajay Meshram’s work integrates natural abstract forms and textures, capturing nature’s vibrancy. His paintings employ illuminating colors and techniques that break free from traditional norms. Meshram has won awards, showcased in group and solo exhibitions, and participated in state and national painting competitions.
Ajit Chaudhary is known for his innovative painting technique involving experimental action on mirror glass. He incorporates lines, colors, and basic shapes, often showcasing Asian influences and reflections. With a background in printing spanning two decades, he has exhibited in both group and solo shows at national and international levels.
Anand C Shende, an artist hailing from Chandigarh, possesses a unique quality of patiently awaiting the unconscious to unfold before his artistic gaze. He captures fleeting visions and forms that emerge as doors of perception open, translating his childhood experiences into captivating paintings.
Dinesh Singh Khundrakpam is a creative sculptor who has participated in solo and group exhibitions, driven by his lifelong passion for innovative ideas. His contemporary sculptures, crafted from durable materials like wood, brass, steel, and bronze, reflect modern life. His artworks have gained international reach, finding homes in the United States, Nigeria, South Africa, and various Indian cities.

“Visual Imagery” – Paintings by Vaishali Rajput
Vaishali Rajput is a Mumbai based artist who has consistently exhibited her works across Mumbai, Thane, Karnataka as well as in the UK. Her themes find inspiration from nature and from ancient Indian artistic imagery from the famed Ajanta works. She explores colourful and artistic forms from the life of plants, animals and humans and presents them through her vibrant and creative paintings.

“MindPage 23” – Paintings by Three artists from Assam – Prabin Kumar Nath, Manika Devi and Aditi Chakravarty.
Prabin Kumar Nath, from Sarbhog, Assam, is a distinguished painter, trained at Gauhati University. He has earned numerous awards including All India Art Exhibition, Art Society of India; National Award, Bombay Art Society; Gold Medals in Gauhati University’s Youth Festival. He received the National Fellowship in Painting from the Ministry of Culture. He’s held 5 solo exhibitions and participated in international events like Ninth Bharat Bhavan International Show.
Manika Devi, from Assam, holds an M.F.A. (Graphics) from M.S. University Baroda, and a B.F.A. (Graphics) from Gauhati University. She has had three solo exhibitions in Guwahati and actively participated in diverse national and international exhibitions. Her works in woodcut print medium presented in this exhibition draw inspiration from the deep impressions from life experiences and nature.
Aditi Chakravarty is a versatile artist with a BFA from Gauhati University, and a Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam from Tamil University. She’s earned several awards and a Gold medal at art exhibitions in Mumbai. She was recipient of the Rashtriya Lalit Kala Akademi Research Scholarship in Painting. With 5 solo exhibitions and international group displays, she’s not only a visual artist but also a skilled Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and mentor at Nrityanjali Academy. Her abstract works presented in this exhibition create mind expanding visual experiences through repetitive arrangement of forms and colours.

“Public Place” – Paintings by Maredu Ramu
Maredu Ramu, holds a MFA from Central University of Hyderabad. He is a prominent artist with a notable presence in both solo and group exhibitions across India. His artistic contributions have gained recognition from esteemed institutions like Apple (USA) among others. His recent project, “Deccan Connection 3,” is centered in Hyderabad. In the current exhibition “Public place”, he captures the changing face of the Indian contemporary city, by depicting urban infrastructure growth juxtaposed with diverse imagery of human life and Indian culture.

“Red Sky Blue Earth” – Mix media Collages by Priya Suneel
Priya Suneel is a graduate of Fine Arts from Stella Maris College, Chennai and has been based in the UK since the past more than two decades. She has had her painting shows at London, Nottinghamshire in the UK and at Lagos in Nigeria. Her present exhibition draws from her immediate surroundings and diverse cultures she has experienced during her travels. She uses diverse media and methodology to create enchanting imagery ranging from figurative to abstract.

“Beyond Imagination” – Paintings by Shivam Sanjiv Huzurbazar
Shivam Sanjiv Huzurbazar is young and passionate 27 year artist, photographer from Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He is currently pursuing MFA from Jain Deemed To Be University at Bengaluru. He aspires to pursue Doctoral research in Art. His artistic passion was recognised by his medical professional parents since his childhood who nurtured him to develop his skills over the last 20 years. He has had various group and solo shows and has received recognition with multiple awards. His works focus on landscape, abstract and nature paintings. He also conducts art demos for enthusiasts. In the current exhibition, Shivam has presented several of his mesmerizing untitled abstract works.
Art lovers can plan their visit to Jehangir art gallery to experience these wonderful exhibitions until 4th September between 11 am and 7 pm.
