Nashik, (August 7) – The heart of Nashik has transformed into a mesmerizing tapestry of Indian folk art, as the Lokchitra Sangam Kalamahotsav enchants visitors with a symphony of colors and stories. Architect Vaishali Pradhan’s call to art aficionados to immerse themselves in this vibrant spectacle finds resonance as traditional art forms come alive under one resplendent roof. Organized by the Warli Art Foundation, this grand celebration features a curated collection of 25 accomplished artists, each weaving their unique narratives through their brushstrokes. This exhibition is welcoming art lovers from 1st to 31st August 2023.
The grand inauguration on August 1, graced by the presence of esteemed figures like Vijay Sankalecha and Suhas Joshi, marked the commencement of this artistic journey. Anjali Bhate, Sushma Patil, Saili Zambare, and others showcased their captivating creations during the first week, casting a spell with their evocative strokes.
As the festival unfolds throughout August, each week invites visitors to explore distinct regional styles. From the intricate Madhubani art of Bihar by Shraddha Shetkar, Kavita Barve, Shilpa Bhatia, and more, to the captivating Chitrakathi and beyond, the essence of India’s diverse cultural heritage is on full display.
This cultural extravaganza transcends boundaries, offering visitors the chance to witness the tribal allure of Warli by Sanjay Deodhar, the delicate grace of Madhubani, alongside a tapestry of styles including Lipan, Tikuli, Saora, Gond, Pattachitra, Mandana, Phad, Gurjari, Kalamkari, Pichwai, Mandla, Bhill, Hazaribagh, Santhal, Dhulisilp, and Leather Puppetry.
