Mahanubhava Sect Mourns the Passing of Vaidyaraj Baba Yakshadev

Nagpur – On July 20th, the Mahanubhava community was struck by sorrow as they bid farewell to a revered spiritual leader, and alumni of JJ School of Art Vaidyaraj Baba Yakshadev (formerly known as Prof. Dhananjay Varma), known for his dedication to the Lord’s path and unwavering commitment to Dharma.

Before starting his spiritual journey Baba Yakshadev served as a Professor at the Government College of Art and Design, Nagpur. He went for voluntary retirement in 1999 to start his spiritual journey. Mahant Vaidyaraj Yakshdev Baba was an illustrious student of JJ School of Art where he won many prestigious awards including the Dolly Cursetjee Award, the Usha Deshmukh Award, and the Gold Medal at the Bombay Art Society. He completed his MFA from Nagpur University.

The funeral service for Shree Mahant Vaidyaraj Baba Yakshadev Purvashrami will be held today, July 21st, at 3 pm in Bhatkuli town, Maharashtra. The funeral will be officiated by Mahant Upadhya Kulbhushan Sri Dhananjaya Singh, a distinguished personality in the community.

Vaidyaraj Baba Yakshadev’s legacy in the spiritual realm and his contributions to the preservation of culture and social commitment was widely recognized. He was an accomplished artist, having received numerous honours and awards during his higher education at Sir J J School of Art. His artistic talent extended to portrait painting, and he was acclaimed for his representations of prominent figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Lokmanya Tilak, Indira Gandhi and Pratibhatai Patil

The entire Mahanubhava community, as well as individuals from the art world, are expressing their condolences on the passing of this devoted and moderate spiritual leader. Vaidyaraj Baba Yakshadev’s teachings and values will continue to resonate within the hearts of his followers.
