Perception 4 – A novel approach to art exhibition

“Perception 4” is a unique exhibition of abstract paintings by Pune based senior artist duo Sharad Tarde and Suchita Tarde, in which their paintings are displayed in combination with designer home furniture created by Pune based artist Suhas Ekbote. The exhibition is held at Ekbote Furniture showroom at Pimpari Chinchwad. The exhibition consists of about 50 paintings of varied sizes as well as sculptures, murals and installation art works. The artists have stated that the painting display has been set up in a unique way with beautiful furniture pieces elevating the look, helping you visualize how these pieces of art will look like in a home.

This is a novel method of painting display being introduced in the art exhibition practice prevailing so far in Maharashtra state. Artists who use prominent online gallery display services get to use features that enable them to provide a visualization of their painting inside a home. They can even customize the display digitally by choosing furniture pieces and can adjust the size of the painting to create a realistic visualization. Potential buyers can use such features to get a sense of the visual impact that a painting would create if they buy it for their home. In Perception 4, the same is being achieved but in the actual physical form instead of digital.

While this approach can be viewed as a good help for the buyer, some art lovers and artists may also look at it as commoditization of the paintings. Art lovers are welcome to decide whether they like the idea or otherwise, by visiting the exhibition.

The exhibition is on till 28^th May, 2023 between 11 am and 7 pm at Ekbote Furniture Showroom at Pimpari Chinchwad.
