Pune Group exhibition to pay homage to saints of Maharashtra.
Pune residents are in for a treat as four talented painters have organized a picture exhibition called “Rang Pandhari” to pay homage to Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj. The exhibition, held at the Art Gallery in the Show Room of Gadgil & Sons, Happy Colony, features the works of artists Dilip Puranik, Swati Kane, Sona Sharma, and Rakhi Aggarwal. The paintings on display encompass various themes, including traditional Indian art, religious and spiritual motifs, as well as a fusion of realistic and abstract styles.
The exhibition was inaugurated on June 13, 2023, at 5 PM by Shri. Mangesh Lomte, the Head of Marketing at Favicryl India, Pune Division. Punekar art enthusiasts can visit the exhibition from June 14th to 18th, 2023, between 11 am and 8 pm.
One of the featured artists, Sona Sharma, is a freelance artist hailing from Pune. Sona Sharma’s curiosity and passion for art drive her to explore various forms, mediums, and styles. She particularly enjoys working with charcoal, acrylic, and oil paints, constantly experimenting with textures and other mediums.
Dilip Puranik, another artist participating in the exhibition, hails from Hyderabad and is currently settled in Pune. After retiring from a banking career, he devoted his time to traditional Indian folk art painting, specializing in Mithila-Madhubani, Warli, Gond, Kalamkari, Cheriyal, and Chitrakathi styles.
Rakhi Aggarwal, a self-taught artist, also contributes her unique style to the exhibition. With a focus on incorporating traditional art forms into contemporary styles, Rakhi’s art pieces have been displayed in numerous national and international exhibitions. Notably, 25% of the sales proceeds from her artworks go towards Sparsh Vardaan, a project by the Trust in Pink Foundation that aims to prevent and detect breast cancer using tactile sensitivity.
Swati Kane, a passionate artist with a diverse background, completes the quartet. Having worked as an entrepreneur, lecturer, and project delivery lead, Swati’s artistic journey began in 1996 with oil painting lessons. Since then, she has explored various mediums such as pencil sketching, watercolor, charcoal, dry pastels, and acrylic colors.
The “Rang Pandhari” group exhibition promises to captivate art enthusiasts in Pune with its rich blend of traditional and contemporary artworks. Visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate the talent and creativity of these four gifted artists and witness the beauty of Indian art showcased in a myriad of styles and themes.
