Ranjit Sarkar at Nehru Centre!

An exhibition titled ‘The Inflection of Tones’ by renowned artist Ranjit Sarkar is currently on at Nehru Centre Art Gallery in Mumbai. The show was inaugurated on 26th Sept 2023 by Guest of Honours – Mr Rajendra Patil (President, The Bombay Art Society Founder Director, India Art Festival Editor, Art Journal), Sunita Sanghai (Owner of Vachi Art), Sorabh Agarwal (MD-Mahi Exports), Mr Shailesh Sheth (Owner of ‘E’ Art Gallery), Sudhir Bahl (Chairman of Life Force Health Systems Pvt. Ltd).
Ranjit Sarkar is a gifted artist from Kolkata, who works in Indian style painting. His artistic prowess was honed under the guidance of Prof Samir Ghosh, Deptt Head, Chandpara Art College. Ranjit Sarkar’s paintings offer a fusion of tradition and impressionism. His artistic philosophy is deeply rooted in the dramatic representation of mythology and religious characters. His work elegantly navigates the interplay between human passion and the surroundings, often portraying a modification of natural appearances to evoke an intense impression of realism.
Ranjit Sarkar has exhibited his works across New Delhi, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Mumbai in India as well as in USA, UAE, Singapore. This exhibition is his 10th Solo exhibition. He has received acclaim and accolades including AIFACS Award, Kalaspandan International award, and Master Sangsar Chand Award.
Ranjit Sarkar’s paintings pay homage to the beauty, grace, and benevolence of women, akin to the reverence bestowed upon them in Indian traditions. He skillfully weaves the essence of ancient Indian temple architecture, idealized portraits, and impressionism into his works, creating an awe-inspiring blend of tradition and modernity.
