Seema Bhargava’s solo exhibition “A soulful Voyage” at Jehangir
‘A Soulful Voyage: Melding Memories with Visions’, a painting exhibition by Seema Bhargava, alum of Delhi College of Arts, is being held at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai from 23rd to 29th May 2023. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mrs. Sashi Tripathi, wife of Vice Admiral Tripathi, Commander in Chief of Western Naval Command. Senior art critic and poet Mr Prayag Shukla was invited as the guest of honour.
Seema Bhargava mainly works in oil paints. Command over technique and attention to detail are the hallmarks of her paintings. In the present exhibition, Seema has created landscape paintings inspired by the nature and lifestyle of Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. The large size of the paintings allow art lovers to experience nature’s beauty vividly as if they were personally visiting these places.
An appropriate sense of perspective in her paintings makes them even more striking. Weaving a rich tapestry of hues, forms, textures, Seema Bhargava brings beautiful memories of this region to life on canvas. Just as a monk bows his head in a monastery, these paintings instill respect in the mind of the devotees for the rich nature of the area. Seema Bhargava has appealed that these paintings created with the help of colors, brushes and emotions should be seen from the heart and not just with the eyes.
The exhibition is open for visitors from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Jehangir Art Gallery upto 29th May 2023.
