‘Vision’ Show Unveiled at Nehru Centre!

‘Vision’ – A Group art exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and graphics by six distinguished contemporary artists from Bengal with diverse artistic brilliance was unveiled at the Nehru Centre Art Gallery at Worli today. It will be open for art lovers for a week, till 6th November. Each of the six artists brings forth a unique perspective, weaving a vivid tapestry of creativity that promises to captivate every viewer.
Arup Kumar Das finds inspiration in the concept of freedom, extending beyond visuals to architecture. Curvilinear forms are a pivotal aspect of his work, with an emphasis on simplifying various elements. His work delves into the nuances and expressive qualities of curves, explored through printmaking and drawing, shaping his overall creative output. Arup Das teaches at the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta.
Arun Paul is a Postgraduate in Textile Design from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Calcutta and currently teaches there. His works are mostly composed with various forms and colour patches, motifs and solid type background contrasting the whole construction of his compositions.
Mrinmoy Das is passionate about fabric in all its forms, including dyeing with both natural and commercial dyes, painting, stamping, screen printing, and quilting. He uses various techniques, including threadwork and embellishments, to create vibrant wall hangings. A practicing Fiber Artist, he also teaches Textile Design at the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta, and is deeply committed to studying weaving, dyeing, printing, and embroidery techniques.
Suman Kumar Pal, a graduate of the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta, and a postgraduate of Rabindra Bharati University in Painting, is a Contemporary Mural Artist with numerous prestigious awards. He currently teaches at his own college. His murals offer a depiction of suburban culture and its intricacies, exploring the commonalities within diverse mentalities through architectural prototypes.
Pradip Mondal is a sculptor with Nature as the main theme is his compositions. He has BVA and MVA in Modelling and Sculpture from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Calcutta, where he also teaches. His sculptures represent the contouring base lines of nature. The linear metallic compositions are just simple in nature to express the transparency in objects of this phenomenal world. The lightness of heavy metal compositionally completes the surroundings.
Partha Protim Gayen’s artworks convey the interplay between history and our connection with nature. These creations emphasize the essential bond between society and the environment. His environmentally conscious approach serves as a reminder that contemporary art can contribute to our understanding of the world by promoting the idea that everything we create or access should ultimately benefit Mother Nature. After completing his MVA in Modelling and Sculpture from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Calcutta, Partha currently teaches in the same college. He has also earned MFA in Art History & Aesthetics from MS University, Baroda.
Art enthusiasts and aficionados are in for a visual treat at the Nehru Centre Art Gallery in Mumbai hosts this mesmerizing exhibition.
