NGMA Mumbai to Inaugurate “Maharaja’s Treasure” Exhibition

Mumbai, India – The National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated exhibition, “Maharaja’s Treasure: Select works of art from the famed Air India collection,” tomorrow, Tuesday, June 13th. This extraordinary showcase promises to captivate art enthusiasts with its impressive collection of artworks, including renowned Masters such as Gaitonde, Raza, and Prabha.

The inauguration of this magnificent exhibition will be graced by honorable Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture. As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, G20 India, and Air India, this exhibition serves as a tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage and artistic legacy. It celebrates the fusion of art and aviation, presenting an array of masterpieces that have been collected and cherished by Air India over the years.

Adding to the excitement of the opening, Gauri SharmaTripathi and Harshada Jambekar will deliver a captivating performance as part of the inaugural event. Their contribution promises to enhance the overall experience and make it even more memorable.

The previously scheduled inauguration of this exhibition on 27th April was postponed due to State mourning on 26th and 27th April. However, reasons for a delay of further 7 weeks to reschedule the inauguration are unknown.
