JJ campus to celebrate 240th Birth Anniversary of Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy

Mumbai, July 13, 2023 – The prestigious JJ campus is gearing up to celebrate the 240th birth anniversary of the renowned industrialist and philanthropist, Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy. The birth anniversary program, organized by Ek JJ Alumni Association (EJAA), will take place on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10 am in the Seminar Hall of Sir J. J. College of Architecture.

Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, fondly referred to as the “Father of Indian Industry,” holds a prominent place in the annals of Indian history. Known for his visionary leadership, he played a pivotal role in shaping modern India through his pioneering efforts in art education and social welfare.

EJAA, an organization incorporated under Section 8 of the (Indian) Companies Act, 2013 (CIN: U80904MH2022NPL392863), proudly organizes this birth anniversary program to pay homage to Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy extraordinary contributions to society and honour his enduring legacy.

Distinguished guests, notable alumni, and eminent personalities from various fields are expected to attend the event, making it a significant and memorable occasion. As part of the celebration, each JJ alumni has been requested to bring a single flower to offer at the statue of Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy. This symbolic gesture represents their collective appreciation and respect for the visionary industrialist.

The EJAA welcomes all alumni, students, and faculty members to join this special event. It is an opportunity to show the unity of JJ alumni for the betterment of JJ School of Art, JJ Institute of Applied Art and JJ College of Architecture.
