This week’s art exhibition plan at the Jehangir Art Gallery opened with five new exhibitions, spanning one group show and four solo shows, amidst cheerful hustle and bustle of art lovers.

“Antah Karan” – Paintings by Nivas Kanhere

Nivas Kanhere presents his abstract paintings through which he explores the co-existence of the real and the unreal.

“Pleasurable Anxieties” – Paintings by Shanmukh Rao Tamada

Shanmukh Rao Tamada presents his novel approach to painting in which he uses intermittent layers of industrial foil and paint to create vibrant psychedelic visual experiences in his first solo show in Mumbai.

“Anubhuti – The Experience” – Paintings by Ar Sunil Vinke, Vishwanath Ludbe, Sham G Koli and Shankar Parab. This group of artists present a variety of engaging abstract and landscape paintings.

“Deconstructing the Beast” and “Constructs of Light” – Paintings by Aryka Fyzee

Aryka Fyzee attempts to deconstruct the complexities of human experience through two of her painting series. “Deconstructing the Beast” presents strong sensory imagery from childhood memoires about wilderness, whereas “Constructs of Light” presents paintings that explore the light not only serves as a medium of observation of the world but a source of innate beauty.

“Chitra-Reshha” – Paintings by Ar Shieital Sonawane Ugale

Ar Sheetal’s paintings mark the self-expression that celebrate the journey of women, their struggles and triumphs and everything in between.
