Kalamaharshi Baburao Painter Art Foundation organizes Art Exhibition and Competition

Pune – This year marks the 133^rd birth anniversary of ‘Kala Maharshi’ Baburao Painter. In celebration of this, ‘National Level Artwork Exhibition and Competition 2023’ is organized by ‘Kalamaharshi Baburao Painter Art Foundation’.  The exhibition is open to public from 2^nd to 4^th June 2023, from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm. The venue for this grand showcase of creativity is the esteemed Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha Kaladalan, Pune.

Baburao Krishnarao Mestry, popularly known as Baburao Painter (3^rd June 1890 – 16^th January 1954) and respectfully referred to as ‘Kala Maharshi’ (A Sage like Persona in Art field) was an Indian filmmaker and self-taught artist. He was a man of many talents with proficiency in painting, sculpture, film production, photography, and mechanical engineering. Being a passionate film maker, he founded the ‘Maharashtra Film Company’.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony on 2^nd June 2023, Friday. The official opening followed by an exciting Birth Celebration and Award Ceremony on 3rd June 2023, Saturday, at 9 am. Renowned artist Dattatray Padekar was invited as the chief guest, who inaugurated the exhibition, adding a touch of prestige to the event. It is a fantastic chance to celebrate the achievements of exceptional artists and honor their contributions to the art world.
