Monsoon Kala Jatra at Pune

Pune, 21st July – Art Pune Foundation inaugurated “Monsoon कला जत्रा” (Monsoon Kala Jatra) Group Show on 18th July at Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery at Pune. The group show is curated by renowned artist Rahul Tukaram Vajale. This art initiative showcases the works of 41 artists ranging from child artists, emerging talents to established masters, each presenting their unique styles, including landscape, portrait, modern art, abstract art, and contemporary art.

The exhibition features Pandurang Tathe’s captivating abstract paintings, Niwas Kanhere’s distinctive abstract path, Minal Parkhi’s figurative works reminiscent of Amrita Sher-Gil, and Zara Shaik’s portrayal of Mumbai slums with social commentary among other eye-catching works. Vikram Marathe’s exquisite abstract watercolor paintings and the remarkable abstract sculptures by spiritual teacher sculptor Ranjit Deshmukh at the Buddha Meditation Center are also the highlights of this captivating show.

Artists and Curator Rahul Tukaram Vajale expressed that he has focused on those artists who have a fresh perspective of art irrespective of their background. He included amateur artists, art students, art educators as well as practicing artists and mature artists who have a deep understanding of art, bringing all of them together on the same level thus forming a confluence of artistic expressions. Thus, the exhibition promises an enthralling visual journey through diverse artistic expressions, celebrating the spirit of creativity.

To generate a dialogue on contemporary art amongst the art community, a stimulating panel discussion has been organized on Saturday 22nd July on “Art of Exhibiting Art” as part of the exhibition. Panel discussion will be amongst esteemed artist panelists – Pandurang Tathe, Rahul Vajale, Vikram Marathe, Priyamvada Pawar and Sanjeev Pawar and will be moderated by Sayali Khedekar. It is scheduled from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm, Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery, Ghole Road, Shivajinagar, Pune-411004. The exhibition is open for art lovers till Sunday, 23rd July.
