Self Portrait-Live: An Artistic Exploration

An exhibition titled “Self Portrait-Live: An Exploration of the Art of Self Portraiture” is being showcased at Darpan Art Gallery, Pune. Organized by the Hina Bhatt Art Foundation, the exhibition features self-portraits by renowned and upcoming artists. The event was inaugurated by esteemed guests, including Shri Rakesh Bhatt, Executive Director of Bajaj Finance, and notable artists  Vasudeo Kamath, Prof. Vilas Tonape, Milind Mulick, Pramod Kurlekar, Manoj Sakle and Prakash Ghadge. The inauguration was followed by live demonstrations, discussions about the significance of self-portraiture, and a competition segment where finalists painted self-portraits alongside the master artists.

The exhibition has garnered a lot of attention from art enthusiasts and students, who had the opportunity to witness live demonstrations by distinguished artists like Shri Vasudeo Kamath, Prof. Vilas Tonape, Pramod Kurlekar, and Manoj Sakle.  Dr. Anupma Patil principal of Bharati Vidyapeeth also graced the event as one of the jury members. The unique aspect of the exhibition is the “live creation” segment, where finalists painted their self-portraits in real-time using mirrors. This segment was the culmination of an online competition, and Daman Gambhir emerged as the grand prize winner. The event also featured live demonstrations by master artists Surabhi Gulwelkar, Mukta Avachat, Manjiri More, and Ganesh Kalaskar, providing invaluable insights and experiences to the attendees.

Hina Bhatt Art Foundation, known for promoting artistic expression and nurturing talent, has successfully organized this exhibition, which showcases the art of self-portraiture. The foundation strives to create meaningful connections between artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts, enriching the art community as a whole.
