Group Exhibition of Paintings & Ceramic: Celebrating Earthy Pleasures of Nature & Colors
Mumbai – The Auditorium Hall of Jehangir Art Gallery in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, is hosting a captivating group exhibition of paintings and ceramic artwork in between 13th June to 19th June 2023. Titled “Earthy Pleasures of Nature & Colors,” the exhibition showcases the unique perspectives of talented artists who find inspiration in the beauty of the natural world.
The exhibition features the works of renowned artists Anand N. Dabli, Suchita Rai Malviya, Satya Dheer Singh, Girija Waingankar, and Nirmala Sharma. Each artist brings their distinct style and artistic vision to their creations, reflecting their deep love for nature and its ever-changing colors.
Anand N. Dabli’s paintings delve into the unseen and unheard aspects of nature. He portrays a magnified version of nature, capturing its textures, lines, and tones through thousands of small, fragmented forms. For Dabli, painting is an intense relationship between his artistic world and nature.
Satya Dheer Singh, born in Allahabad and now based in Bhopal, draws inspiration from Hindi literature. His figurative style reflects his love for storytelling, with narratives that possess a dramatic and explanatory quality. Singh’s artwork is a creative blend of his thoughts and emotions, expressed through paintings and drawings.
Suchita Rai Malviya’s artwork captures the transient and ever-changing qualities of nature. Influenced by her fascination with bees and pollen, she explores different perspectives in her artistic interpretations. Malviya believes in looking at things from multiple angles, infusing her work with a sense of depth and exploration.
Girija Waingankar’s work explores the mystical beauty and contemplative nature of step wells. Drawing inspiration from their rhythm and symmetry, she brings the essence of step wells to life through clay sculptures. The descent into these step wells becomes a metaphorical journey into a state of contemplation.
Nirmala Sharma’s ceramic artwork focuses on jalis, the intricately carved screens commonly found in Indian architecture. She transforms clay into sculptural forms, incorporating inscribed poetry to give her work a personal touch. Sharma’s creations reflect her belief that the touch of the hand should remain imprinted in the mind.
The exhibition invites art enthusiasts and nature lovers to immerse themselves in the artists’ interpretations of nature’s wonders. Visitors can experience the harmonious blend of colors, textures, and narratives that evoke the essence of the natural world.
The exhibition will be open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Auditorium Hall of Jehangir Art Gallery, providing ample time for art enthusiasts to explore and appreciate the unique artistic expressions on display.
